About Exhibition
About Exhibition

Rudolf Urech-Seon (*18.2.1876 Seon - 23.7.1959 Seon) graduated as a naturalist landscape painter from the Art Academy in Munich. Soon, he developed compositions concentrating on constructivist elements to the point of complete abstraction by employing geometrical forms and using bright colors. Back in Switzerland, Urech-Seon represented the first abstract painter in his hometown Aargau, which still followed the tradition of Post-Impressionism and had little comprehension for modern movements. Therefor, he positioned himself in the Avant-garde circles in Basel and Zürich (1932 Picasso, 1933 Braque, 1938 Le Corbusier), where he exhibited his works and finally gained recognition.
