Rudolf Häsler - Kubanischer Fischer, undated
Oil on canvas
130 x 90 cm
The first overseas destination of Rudolf Häsler led him to the Caribbean Sea and Cuba. There he tried for the first time to paint reproducing reality as faithful as possible. This oil painting illustrates Häsler's attempts to recreate the multiple impressions of the tropical Caribbean island in a colourful manner. The bird's eye view renders the painting the dynamics of a snapshot and the fishing boat seems to slip away in the crystalline sea.
